About me

Cycling in the Nilgiris, 2018.
Hey there 👋 my name is Rithvik. I am an independent IT and cybersecurity consultant. I am also a STEM educator. Most of what I do links back to one thing - shaping technology into a force for good.
My clients are mostly social & public sector organisations - NGOs, philanthropies, archives, universities. I design and build software & websites for them along with configuring and maintaining servers. Learning secure development practices and server hardening techniques organically led me to specialise in cybersecurity. I strongly believe in treating web accessibility and security as foundational considerations rather than something that can be bolted on at the end.
My interest in STEM education began with taking computer classes for kids at a local NGO. This interest transferred to my work as well and led to me conducting digital safety trainings and threat modeling workshops for my clients. Communication and knowledge transfer are underrated tools in the tech space. Most problems don't require a technological solution. They just require a good conversation.
I believe that technology serves people best when they understand it and thus get to have a say in its future. In October 2026, I facilitated a workshop at Science Gallery Bangalore as part of their exhibit on quantum physics. The workshop was titled Keeping Secrets in a Post-Quantum World and introduced participants to the fascinating intersection of quantum computers and cryptography through hands-on activities and demonstrations.
In my free time, I like to tinker with my home server. I use it to self-host the services that I need to disentangle my life from big tech. This is also where I explore interests that have yet to find a use in my work, such as computer networking and electrical engineering.
If you are interested in collaborating with me, hiring my services, or just having a conversation about something you've read here, please feel free to drop me an email at rithviktech@pm.me. I look forward to hearing from you.
